+Sissy Spacek (John Wiese)

http://www.myspace.com/ssississpssk

Although the mysterious Sissy Spacek existed in various forms from summer 1999 to their last known gig in Los Angeles, they are practically unknown in—let alone out of—California. Their recorded output is incredibly rare and highly priced and interviews or articles in the music press virtually non-existent. Tie that in with extreme sensory assault at live shows, links to radical ideologies, and a general aura of confusion and you have the ultimate cult group.

+gerritt wittmer/paul knowles

Multi-disciplinary artist Paul Knowles joined Gerritt Wittmer in 2009 to explore the fringes of man’s sciences through the medium of sound and performance art. Their work combines elements of movement, light and sound to produce an abstract narrative on subjects such as out-of-body experiences and alchemy.

+Fossils From the Sun

http://www.myspace.com/fossilsfrthesun

Fossils From the Sun is the nom de plume of Ray Hare, also of Albany’s psych cabal, Burnt Hills and with Eric Hardiman, ½ of Century Plants, a guitar, noise, electronic, whatever duo. Hare’s sonic palette is wide ranging drawing from metal, noise, and pastiche concrete. Releases include offerings on Tape Drift, Peasant Magik, Bum Tapes, Abandon Ship as well as a forthcoming cassette on Digitalis.

FFRTHSUN currently focuses on live manipulations of feedback loops, gtr and vocals. Obvious influences include Suicide (with whom FFRTHESUN feels a particular affinity), Spacemen 3, SUNN and Throbbing Gristle. Less clear but no less influential, Everything But the Girl, Thin Lizzy
